Hi,
I just bought a 16' aluminum Microcraft boat for $225

Here is what i know so far.
1975
16'
50hp rude model#50573B
prop in good shape
skag has a few little dings
temp horn dont work
need to replace the key switch. @ $45
Lower end gear lube looks and smells good.
Carbs look clean.

Start it up and i let it run maybe 5 seconds then i shut it off just to make sure it runs.
So now here are my questions.

1. Where does the water come out when its running I have read reports on there that say the prop.

2. where is the temp horn located? is there a test for it.

3. How do i install a temp guage.

New to all of this but learning fast.

I think there is a pee hole on the starboard side of your motor for the water stream to come out. If not, then there should be spray of water coming out of the exhaust housing just above your cavitation plate. The temp alarm would be inside of the throttle control box. You should here a short beep when you turn the key to the on position. That indicates the alarm is working. I have a Mirrocraft boat to. It's a 16ft fiberglass Fish n Ski with a 1988 Johnson 50hp. Great rig!
