Has anyone had to change a starter on a Merc 3.7 liter? A buddy of mine who owns a boat but has no mechanical knowledge has asked me to change the starter on 1985 Century 21 Palimino with the 3.7. I have done alot of work on this boat for him such as lower unit, alternator kit, and more small fixes than i can name. I looked at it last night and it appears that you have to have small hands to get to the bolts or remove the heat exchanger maybe both. Dosen't seem like a big deal but he wants it done NOW if not sooner. If anyone can give me any kind of insight on problems that I will most likely have or shortcuts to eliminate hassle would be great.
