My 1997 mercruiser alpha one gen 2 drive empties the drive oil reservoir into the bilge after a ~30 minutes at high rpm. When I slow down the gear oil level drops below the alarm level and I have to add oil. It has done this before but has happened three times this season. I always thought the reservoir was too small to hold the expansion volume. I used the Mercury high performance gear oil as always. I put in fresh oil at the beginning of the summer with the hand pump from the lower drain plug. Any suggestions?
