i have a 1994 chaparral signature 24 that i have been having problems with getting it to start. i have done a lot to the boat. as i crank on the motor to start it the starter spins slower and slower untill it stops i suspected the battery got a new battery and still the same thing. so i took the starter out and bench tested it it did the same thing on the bench just wondering what causes this to happen to the starter as i am going to rebuild it
