I am putting a rebuilt long block Chevy 350 back in the boat (Campion Haida). I just took a look at the output shaft in the bellhouseing. I can wobble it a tiny tiny bit. What would you recommend??? It is tied to 280 volva penta leg.
Does not appear that any water has gotten through but the bellow did have some water in it.

Thanks
Dale

Re: Outshaft Movement (bellhousing)

there are 2 bearings and 2 seals on that shaft, one on the inside of the boat engine side of the transom and the other is on the outside. i would highly recommend changing them while you have the motor out if you have any question otherwise you will have to pull the motor again. the grease fitting on the top of the housing inside the boat greases the inside bearing but the one toward the drive is not greasable unless the drive is off.
