My 1986 Sea Ray 140hp Mercruiser Alpha I I/O has a problem in the steering system. The steering is usually frozen when first starting out and as I use the boat it frees up slowly. I usually creaks when I steer and feels like it catches. The power steering pump has no leaks and seems to be ok on fluid. Does this sound like a cable, rack, or sterndrive problem?
