1999 MERCURY 60 HP OUTBOARD MOTOR 2 questions ?

i have 2 questions
1, is it a good idea to put sum 2 stroke in the fuel tank ??
2, can i put a bigger prop on this motor to gain more speed and gain grater fuel efficiency

1, Only if you have reason not to trust your oil pump, in which case you need to address the problem.
2, Maybe, but we have no idea until you give us some info. What kind of boat, what prop is on there now, how many RPMs are you getting at WOT, how many are you supposed to get, what kind of speed are you getting now, etc. etc. etc. to quote Yul Brenner.

ok i have a Shetland 536 boat standard prop am getting about 20 knots don,t know about revs as the rev counter dos not work as for the 2 stroke i thought it just might b a good idea to give the engine a little extra

You need to have that tach working, before changing props. Over or under rev at WOT is bad.

ok what is WOT ?? and the boat at max revs 23 knots if i take her back a bit she plains at 16 knots will try get rev counter working
