Anyone running this set-up or something similar?
I will be re-powering my 181SX Fish-N-Ski with a Yamaha VMAX 150 TRP. I mostly use the boat for playing 75% tubing, skiing, cruising and 25% bass fishing. The outboard has dual 25" pitch props. Normally I would think the props would be too big for playing but everything I've read about the TRP is that it has an incredible hole shot. I really don't want to spend $1,100 for new props and they don't make a 23" the next size down is the 21".
A little history on the boat. I bought it from the original owner and it had a Force 120 on it. I swapped it out with a Yamaha 130 that I had on my Champion 168SC. The 130 ran great on the 168SC but not good at all on the 181SX even after droping down a size on the prop.
Looking for input on what to expect.
Thanks, KWeldon
