What does the top of your battery say. The two in my ttruck say something likw 600 CCA. thats cold cranking amps. I think my 4 cylinder Acura used a 430 CCA battery.

So, Id suspect you would need somewhere in the 200-300 amp range.

Re: circuit breaker on starter wire

What part of the starting system is this going into? If it's between the starter and the solenoid, you may be surprised at the cost of an ignition protected 150 (or higher) amp breaker. A starter will normally draw 130 to 150 amps when cranking a four cylinder engine, 175 when cranking a V6, and as much as 200 to 225 amps when cranking a large V8. There is no need to have a breaker in that part of the system nor is it necessary to have one between the battery and the solenoid. It is certainly possible to add one -- but why???

Re: circuit breaker on starter wire

i have it wired to a blue sea 135 amp circuit breaker now , in between the battery and battery selector switch [remote operational], but im realizing it might be too small , i do have a variety of anl fuses as well, i have a 175 anl fuse which will blow at 290 amps @ 500 seconds . i am considering going with no fuse ,but i do like the protection of fuses
