I originally posted my plight in another thread. Linky

My final questions are: Has anyone experienced an intermittent issue with a timer base? Has anyone experienced one breaking down under heat?

If the answer is yes, then I know what I need to do. Otherwise, if it's a run or not run component, I'm back to the drawing board.

What year and hp engine? Last time I had one go out, it just quit-no spark at all. What makes you think it is the timer base and not a pack or stator?
