I have a 1985 Evinrude 70HP VRO outboard with power trim. I removed all the bolts I could find but for some reason the lower unit won't come off. I recently removed the lower unit off of a 35hp Merc, without power trim, no problem at all. The issue with the 70HP seems to be with the front of the lower unit where part of the power trim is located. Could this be possible? Does the power trim somehow attach to the lower unit?
After I removed all of the bolts the lower unit dropped down about 3/4" and I tried tapping it with hammer just to see if it was stuck. It didn't work and I'm not going to hit it hard because I don't want to break anything. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!
