I have a Merc 150 XR and my problem is that last night I was cleaning my boat so I was raising my unit up and down (3 times over a 20 min period). The problem is that the down button (rocker switch) on the trottle quit working it still works fine in the up tilt. The transom switch works for both directions (up & down). My question is: Does the unit have (anything other than the rocker switch i.e relay ??) that would create a problem? In common sense terms it sounds like the points are struck in the switch. I just don't want to take the shift lever apart and it be something simple as a relay.
