Just purchased a used Sea Ox with a 98 Johnson 150 model number J150FSXECR. The seller had it in for a charging problem and purchased a new regulator/rectifier assembly and it needs to be installed. Where is the reg/rec located. I can not seem to located anything that looks like the new one!
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

I suggest you go to shop2.evinrude.com...and look up your motor with your year/model no. info...all the diagrams will be there...easy site to navigate

It will be concealed under a cover on the top .
It sits in the block, being water cooled and all that.
Consider getting the shop manual to become familiar with the system and its needs. Try the bottom link in my signature for factory manuals, don't buy seloc.

Behind the flywheel is a plastic cover with 4 phillips head screws. That removes to expose the VR which is bolted to the top of the block, above the water/exhaust housing. The VR is therefore a rectangular item with 4 bolt holes, a connector and a gasket.
