I have a 1979 70hp Evinrude. I rebuilt the carbs on the motor this year and it seems to be running better except that I still can't get it to idle down unless I set it to the half choke position (by flipping the butterfly things to half choke, sorry, I'm not sure exactly what they are called).
Did I miss something when I was rebuilding the carbs (or is there something I can do to help with the high idle).
When I open them up wide open it just takes off and revs fairly high.
I couldn't find an OEM manual, but I have an aftermarket manual for the motor but it doesn't cover things very well.
