I have an old prestolite dist that's installed right now in my 5.7 OMC.
I have an HEI electronic dist with a 50K coil. I was gonna install it but for one it's not a marine one and two it's too big to fit.
Anyways the HEI one has a vacuum advance thing on the side of it. Pretty sure it gets hooked to the carb.
I have an edelbrock 1409 by the way.
Question is if I convert to an electronic IGN and get a new marine elec dist do I need to worry about what kind of advance it has? Do all electronic dist have a vaccum advance?
