I purchased a 1988 Suntracker Party Barge. It didn't have a motor, but had Mercury controls. I then bought a 1990 Evinrude 40 HP and Evinrude controls and had them put on. I took the boat out and after about 2 minutes a beep starting coming out of what sounded like the controls. It beeps about every second or so, which I think means no oil. The motor was originally oil injected, but was changed over just to a 50:1 mixture. So I don't know if there is a sensor reading that there is no oil in the motor or what. But I know there is because I mixed it. And the mechanic that put the motor and controls on for me told me what to mix it, so why would he hook the oil sensor up?
