Hey Guys,
I was just on a Regal users forum and there was a cool thread where members showed their modifications to their boats. I have a Trophy 2052 and have added only a VHF radio; I want to install a FM radio but am not sure where to put it, the speakers and how to run the speaker wire. This type of thread may be of interest to many to see how Trophy guys customize their rigs.
Just a thought,
carlos

Oh Yea! gave her a name Too! The sides roll up and the two front eye lids go up as well, now I can keep the enclosure up all the time and when I get caught in a rain storm I just roll'm down. Summertime in SW Fla, is rain quite frequently

I love the opening windows, Frakie G. Remind me where you got these. I have often thought of adding indicating trim tab switches Tiki35. They work pretty well for you?

Yes, I love the auto-retract feature and knowing the position of each tab all the time.

The eye lids are great, no more stop! pull out the curtains when the storm hits. here in SW Fl this time of yr it storms almost every day on the Gulf and now with the new set up I just keep everything up for good air flow cause it gets hot out there ( in the 90-'s ) and on the return trip when we hit the storm...we can keep running and just zip down the curtains an stay dry, and when it stops or we run out of it just zip it back up! there's a local gal in the canvas business in my town so I called her and she came to the boat and we drew in where I wanted the cut outs to be on the existing glass, she then took those as a template and made me new ones, this time I went with top notch zippers and smoked glass

I have a 2000 Merc 150 on my 20 foot Trophy.
I have never worked out the gas mileage, but it seems to sip gas. Has lots of power, top speed is 41 MPH with a 14.5 x 18 stainless Enertia prop. I use a kicker for trolling.

Tiki- Next season I want to get the prop you are using. I know you experimented with props to get to this choice. The 15 x 19 on my '96 175hp Merc. barely does 41mph at 5200 rpms. I will stay with the aluminum prop because we tend to find unchartered waters on occasion.

Just installed a 5 unit universal stainless steel rocket launcher rod holder on my 2052 hardtop. Bought it on eBay and it is excellent quality and completely adjustable to fit.

Here is a view from the top...

The arched cross member pivots so you can adjust the angle of the rod holders. It has two set bolts to lock it in place at your desired angle. the two uprights fit into the base plates and are held by 4 allen set screws. I love it and it was easy to install with 8 stainless steel screws and some sealant.

Re: Show Us Your Customized Modifications ...

Here is a project I am just finishing up. My "Admiral" mentioned that getting to galley storage on our 2359 HT was a pain. Actually she phrased it a little different??? You had to tear the seat of the dinette apart each time you wanted some thing, so I adapted it to a pull out drawer. It was a bit of a challenge and there are a few things I would do differently but I think it should be an improvement.

Re: Show Us Your Customized Modifications ...

I have a 2007 Trophy 1952. I have made a couple of minor additions to my boat. First I needed somewhere to mount my stereo and a little extra storage. I built a wooden cabinet to utilize some wasted space in the cabin. I also installed a TR1 autopilot and placed the flux gate compass in the cabin. I protected it with an aluminum shield. I am looking for a fix for all of the door bumper/latches used on my model of boat. I have 6 of them and all but 1 have broken the same as the one shown.

John, I just installed a marine stereo in my 2006 2052 WA Hardtop. I went with a Fusion RA200 head unit, two Fusion 7" flush mount speakers for the helm, and two 4" box speakers for the cabin. I installed the flush mount speakers in the panels next to the captains chairs. The starboard speaker is mounted just above the access hole and the port speaker is mounted in about the same location only on the port side. The rear of the port speaker goes into the storage area in the cuddy cabin. Here's a few pics...

Nice Job! What did you use to cut out for your round speakers?

I used a sabre saw. I measured it and rechecked several time before growing the balls to make the cut! I taped duck tape to the cut area before marking the cut-out so I didn't mar the surface. Then, drill a pilot hole big enough for the sabre saw blade and cut the circle. The panel averages about 1" thick there, about 1/2" plywood with about 1/4" fiberglass on the inside and outside.
