throttle control on evinrude

i have a few posts up ,but need some help on this .84 115 evinrude .how much should the butterflies open up in reverse? if i adjust the cable it open up alil bit in reverse and all the way in foward but when i start the motor its at to high of a idle. so if i adjust the cable again the motor is at perfect idle but the carbs dont open all the way:confused:

nevermind i just checked ebey nothing for a 84. found a site where i can download it for $14.00

You don't use the cable adjustment to set the idle speed, there is a idle stop screw you need to set.

under the flywheel? that screw is set

It's the screw on the arm where the cable connects, you should use a manual to adjust the cable and screw properly.
