Good morning all. I have been cruising these forums for a while, but now have a somewhat desperate problem. I am out at a lake and my power tilt and trim have stopped working. I have searched the forums but couldn't find the problem that I am having.

As we came in last evening I went to trim the motor up as I came through the marina, but all I got was a clicking sound. I suspect it is a relay but am not sure. I took the cowl off and found where the clicking was coming from, there is what I assume is a relay near the top of the powerhead behind a plastic cover.

I know I am not giving you much to go on but if anyone could help I would be greatful.

Sorry, I thought of putting that in, then didn't.

It is a 1994 Mercury 115 HP.

So it is not the solenoids, I went and swapped them and there was still no action. I thin hit the hydrolic motor and it moved, although it was grinding. I am pretty sure the problem is with the brushes. Going to see if there is a replacement motor in town.

the relays are just a switch. the clicking noise is the switch flipping up and down. it's just like the light switch at your house. You can flip the switch all you want but if the fuse is blown then the lights are not coming on. Putting in a new switch won't fix it either. You have to find and replace the blown fuse in the power panel.
