I purchased a 2001 115hp 4stroke Merc last year and have had problems with fuel getting into the engine oil. my dealer said that the thermostat was faulty causing the motor too run cold and they replaced it. The problem still persisted so I purchased a kicker for trolling but although at a slower rate, fuel is still entering the engine oil. Initially when the problem occurred there was a small amount of water in the oil but after I stopped using the motor for trolling there was no water present, the dealer said this was due to condensation from running cold as I was trolling for periods of up to six hours. Can anyone help as my dealer is stumped? Thanks

I can't help but this topic has been addressed before. The term used was "making oil" and it was a Merc problem. Run a search and you will likely pick up useful info.
