Well today I finally bit the bullet and picked up a project boat. It is a 1968 Hydro swift 16'4" long it has a mercruiser 160 hp i/o that looks to be in really good condition.
The floor is surprisingly sturdy, but I still need to drill some samples into the transom and stringers to check their condition, overall she is in good condition despite her age.
pictures will have to wait untill the morning because it was already dark by the time I got home, had to drive two hours south to pick her up.
I figure that worse case the boat is a complete pile and I can part out the outdrive and engine and trailer to recoup my money
The best part? I only paid 200 bucks
