I have a 1991 Maxum 1700XR. This boat is rated for up to a 75hp motor. It currently has a 70hp Force, which is giving me some problems. I have , from a previous boat , a 1978 Merc 500 4 cylinder. This motor runs great and has very low hours. My question. If I put the Merc on and attempt to pull my kids water skiing and tubing will I beat the heck out of this motor?Thanks in advance for your reply.
