1969 85hp johnson. My water pump went out and had it replaced. Went out on the lake and I had no neutral. I had forward and reverse. I disconnected the forward wiring harness to the shift switch and applied power to the green wire to the shift selonoid and neutral worked. I thought the shift switch was bad and wired uo two toggle switches still no neutral but I did have forward and reverse. Could the mechanic somehow pinched a wire to the selonoid in the lower unit after replacing the impeller? I am stumped.
