My brother in law has a (I believe) 1980 or 1981 merc 150hp V-6. The bearing that is under the flywheel that holds the end of the crank has gone bad. How would I go about ordering the new parts to fix this? I tried the iboats store but didn't have much luck finding what I need which is the bearing and the housing that it sits in any ideas.

This should help. I believe you're looking for parts 13-16....

Re: help with part name

achris,
Thank you so much for the parts diagram that is perfect and exactly what I need. Do these bearings fail often or is this a not so common thing to happen. Everything else in the engines internals looks to be in great shape. Does this bearing get lubricated through a recirc hose or just through regular running just was curious.
