I have a 1979 mariner 9.9 I recently replaced the impeller put it all back together and no water from tell tale I then put it in gear but still nothing I noticed the prop was not turning either so I took the powerhead off and the spline in the crank was stripped does anybody know of a fix for this short of replacing the crank this motor runs perfect and I would like to keep it Thanks for any help RASTADOG

That's too bad. If you could get the crankshaft out of the motor, then MAYBE you could have the spline end/area welded and machined/reworked to accept the end of your drive shaft(which you might also do some welding/working on). As long as the 2 engage together sufficient to transfer 9.9HP. The engagement needs to be good or it could create vibration or noise. With a small HP motor this could work! I know you hate to just trash a real good old motor like that...go for it!
