i have a 1987 vip vision with an I/O mercruiser. when i try and pull a wakeboarder out of the water, it seems like its im trying to pull a building down. it has a 4 cylinder motor and i know it has plenty of power, so my question is...could it be my prop and all that ot is there something that i could do to the motor to kinda put some pep in its step?

Re: ?????

Reducing the prop pitch (replace with a prop with a smaller pitch) will help significantly. Something else to consider is using a Laser II or HighFive prop. They have vent holes in the hub that allow the engine to spin up to the power band before the prop 'bites'. It's a lot like a high stall torque converter on an auto tranny...
