When I jump on the throttle to pull up a skier, I get a slight cough and then it takes of like a bat outa hell. What would cause this hiccup or stumble. It doesn't sound like a backfire through the carb just a slight "whump" and then it goes.
What do you think?
Thanks
Chet

your accelerator pump is not pumping the extra squirt of fuel in like it should.
common Rochester carb thing.

your engine air/fuel ratio leans out when you open the throttle and all that air rushes in. The accel pump , when working, squirts a few cc's of gas in

if you take the flame arrester off, and watch the linkage, you'll see the top end of this pump hooked to the lever.... the new ethanol fuels are drying the seals out... not that they ever lasted very long...

Thanks for the reassurance. I had thought that may be the culprit. Looks like the one from a Quadrabog. Is the 2 barrel difficult to get back to adj. after rebuilding?
Thanks for the help.
