1997 OMC I/O 5.7 with 2 barrel Holley Carb.

Cruising and accelerating at 3500 to 4000 rpm and experienced a loss of power. Found that I had left the gas cap off.

Put the cap back on and it seemed to recover.

Could the cap being off have caused the loss of power?

Thanks for any ideas.

Regards, Maurice.

Pirate:

Thanks for the heads up. I'll do a search and see what I come up with.
