I have a 1975 Johnson 115 HP that I'm pretty sure has a Calco Tilt/Trim system on it. It has been working fine until today when I went to hit the switch it just clicked. Everything else electrically worked, including starting the outboard, so I knew the battery was OK. I had worked on this tilt motor a few years back to replace some faulty wiring and upon opening up again found what I think was a bad cicuit breaker wire. It was a small solid wire and all I had was stranded wire, so I used this. When I try and run the motor (being held in a vise) it tries to run, but mostly just hums. The armature and field appear to be in pretty good shape. Any ideas??
