So at the risk of exposing my level of ignorance with boat motors, I will ask this anyway. I just purchased a 1995 Four Winns with a 115 HP Evinrude Ocean Pro outboard on it. The motor is oil injected and I am wondering if I should use a high grade of fuel or is regular unleaded sufficient?

Re: Fuel Type

i would use 87 octane with marine grade stabil in it. Ethynol is bad news andeven the higher octanes are starting to have it in it.

Premium gas is for high compression performance engines which you do not have, 2 stroke outboards are pretty low compression engines so regular unleaded is fine.

Some folk swear by the preminum but it really gives you no advantage and just drains your wallet.
