I have a 1989 OMC 5.0 with a Holley 2300. It needs a new carb due to a crack. Do I have to use another holley or will another carburetor fit it? Any suggestions on a better carb?

Why replace with something else? Adapter plates, linkage adapters, wasting lots of time .....
The 2300 is a very good carb.

A better carb would be a Holley 4150, 600cfm, electric choke, with vac secondaries sitting on an Edelbrock Performer intake.
