Mercury-2001 - 25HP-Electric, 15 in shaft- Serial 0T66930
I truly have an Engine that was made in hell.
(Very little use, no abuse, simply a motor that has never performed with excellence)
After several repairs over last 3 years, my authorized repair dealer says that a piston is bad & there will be major expenses.
This outboard has many virtually new parts and no external damage to the case/prop. IT LOOKS GREAT--BUT IS JUNK.

Tiller Tube Assembley-82146A
Prop Protector
QUESTION 1
- Motor is in a dealer repair shop- Russell Springs Kentucky
- The dealer has said they will consider buying for parts.
- WHAT IS A SCRAP VALUE FAIR PRICE???
QUESTION 2
- Did Mercury ever have a recall on the 2001 ?
This motor truly seems to be a lemon.
