I have a mercury 60 that the powerhead is blown and want to use the powertrim off that, and use it on the mariner 40 that i just got. is this possible?

if both engines are meant to use a similar single ram system then yes. If the part number for the piston-eye mounting shaft is different from one engine to the other then no.
