I have the Merc 4.3LX engine in a 1988 Sea Ray 20 BR. It doesn't have the fuel/water separator filter on it that I've seen in the engine manuals. I can't see from the illustrations what the bracket that mounts the separator filter looks like, or find a part number for it. Can someone help me with the appropriate part number for the bracket? I ordered a Sierra head & filter with the intention of mounting it in back of the gas tank, between the tank and the motor (there's room in the bilge). But that would put the bottom of the filter below the top of the tank, so if the filter sprung a leak, I could get siphoning action out of the tank. So I'd like to mount the filter higher, which requires ordering the correct engine bracket. Any help really appreciated...
