Those were pretty good old motors, a lot of parts stll available for them. It is worth the money if you can do repairs yourself, because it will need some TLC. Water pump, carb overhaul and tune up. Lower unit will need to be serviced also, to start.

Yes it is a '59 or a '60.These years are the same engine.
Parts are easily available.
Do a compression test and if you are above 60 psi with the cylinders less than 5 pounds different,you should be OK.
Now unless you are good with little engines you should take it to Bill Mayers at "Mayers Marina". He is situated on the east side of the Irondequoit Bay outlet. His number is 585-323-1010.He has all the replacement parts and sixty years of experience with these engines.
