I have a 50hp Evinrude. It is early 1980's I believe 1984. it is stuck in reverse. I can put it in forward and nutrual and it still sits in reverse. I checked the linkige and it shifts. Any ideas?
If all of your linkage is shifting properly and it stays in reverse, you are probably going to have to drop the lower unit and disassemble it to find your problem. Could be a linkage problem in the lower unit.
