I know what happend , I screwed up when lowering the unit down. stayed on the switch to long and jamed it down. What is the best way to unjam it? Would getting in the water and pulling on it help unstick it?
Thanks Beef

remove the quadrant gear. 9/16" wrench - 3 bolts

a hard slam often breaks the 2 roll pins through the horizontal shaft- the broken off pieces of roll pin can jam things up... gotta disassemble the clutch hsg. to clear it.

the shaft is only $10 or so

Agree with removing quadrant gear. You could also try having someone jerk it up while holding the switch in the up position. Might be enough to unbind it, but I doubt it.
