help with wiring a tach.

I have a 1980 75 hp outbord. This is how I'm going to wire it. Ground to ground, (send) to tach wire witch is white, power to (i) on the ing. switch.
Is this right??????

it a older tach, that will work i think. it a Faria tach and i adj. it for my 12 pole. i turn the little switch to 6 like it said. i plan to wire it 2marow.

Don't quote me but I thought all older forces at least in the 80's were 20 poles. I wish mine was a 12 pole cause those tachs are everywhere.

You have a 12 pole alternator on your engine? I could have sworn that Chrysler used 20 pole alternators.
