I've got an 88 4.3 Mercruiser on a 18 ft rinker with no spark at the positive side of the coil. When I put 12v from the battery to the coil positive it has good spark and runs good. Also, the key works normally when theres battery voltage on the coil, but when I take it off and turn the key there is no response. Does this mean the ignition switch is no good? any help appriciated
