Volvo 4.3 Power Steering problem

started hearing power steering whine last Saturday, checked resevoir it was low
no problem filled it

Sunday same thing fluid in bilge

checked resevoir/pump no leaks, 2 connections on back-tight ,no visible leaks

both lines from resevoir snake off behind the engine which is where
i am assuming my problem is
Im also assuming that one or both of those lines go to a piston???(that turns the drive??)

I thought my god i cant even see back there, how will i ever find it to fix it

any suggestions or schematic of where those lines go and how they connect
also aside from the annoying whining of the steering , am i damaging if i operate with a leak
Thanks

Impossible to say where your leak is. The 4.3 was used on several different drive setups over the years.

That is a problem marine techs face on a daily basis. Boat design engineers don't seem to understand or care that the engines may need repair at times. I have had to pull engines out of the boat for tuneups, starters, raw water pump impellers, fuel pumps, steering, trim, you name it.
