getting ready for big trip please help

i have an 1981 mercury 115Hp thunderbolt ignition engine it seems to run well at idle sometimes loads up after long idle and on any take off it bogs unless u bring rpms up to 1000 then hammer it then it will go carbs havent been cleaned in years and im going to do that tomorrow but is there anything else that could be wrong and is water supposed to come out the exhaust a little also the rectangle port the sits just above the water is exhaust? it pisses out the water hole well and to start it most of the time u need to rev it a little bit the u can go to idle boat has new water pump to if u guys need to know anything else let me know and what type sparkplugs should i use

bump to the top any one have ideas mainly the correct plugs to run to try that first

Ngk BUHW plugs,clean carbs and install new fuel pump diaphram...
