Volvo Identification

Hi all,
I am looking into buying a boat, the problem being it is over 200 miles from me and the owner also a great distance. In the civilized world this wouldn't be so much of a problem but here in Zimbabwe it is a mission and my comms with the seller are at best dodgy (his landline was stolen 6 months ago and is yet to be replaced plus it has taken me 2 hours to get to "Post New Thread"). It may be a few weeks before I can get the engine model/id number and I want to press on with my research.

Anyway I have a bit of info and will soon be posting a request for advice in the "Boat Topics and Questions" forum. In the meantime can anyone identify the engine shown in the attached pic so I can research it? All I have been told is that it is a Volvo Penta 165HP Diesel Turbo with Volvo 280 Fixed external leg. Hours are 3440 with major overhaul at 3130.

As well as an identification if anyone can inform me of the engines good/bad points it would be appeciated.

If the boat is a 1982 to 86 vintage, it is probably the AQAD40B engine. Usually came with the single prop 280 outdrive, but could also have the 280 DuoProp outdrive.
They are good engines and outdrives.

I presume 3440 hours isn't a problem - assuming it has been serviced regularly?

Also what sort of fuel consumption would you expect cruising at 2000rpm?
