I bought a 19ft. Bow rider with 120 I/O Merc cruiser last year (used 1984). Had some minor problems with the trim motor. Found out one of my battrey lines wasn't tighten down. Anyway I thought I had everything figured out, took it out on the lake early this year and it worked great. Next time the trim motor quits when it's time to pull it out. Have the mechanic look at it, and of course it works for him on the trailer. Take it back on the lake and it fails again when it's time to take it out of the water. I think it's either the (single) rocker switch or the motor. Not entirely sure.

Re: Trim Motor

The trim motor dosn't move to the up postion. It does response to down movement. The volt meter reflects that there's a energy draw.

could be the switch but my money would be on the motor.
