Re: Evinrude motor

That would be right after BRP took over OMC so it could be, take it to a marina and have it looked at.

It could be the best engine ever made but if it wasn't taken care of it could be junk, get it looked at by someone who knows what to look for, it is money well spent.

Re: Evinrude motor

although Sea Pro is out of business they made good mid-line boats so you shouldn't have any problems, other than those you always have with a boat. 200 hp is a good size; I have a 150 on a very similar 21, and a friend has a 150 on a 2003 sea pro 21, and they are enough power but it might be nice to have a little more. it will be a good boat for the sounds and rivers, and also for the inlets on good days. Skilled boaters take them off shore.

Re: Evinrude motor

200 HP is more than enuf for this size boat. You will be in front of everyone else. Since it is a used motor, be sure to personally take or observe a compression test, preferably with your own gauge. The compression shouldn't vary by more than 10% between cylinders, and should not be dramatically lower than the manufacturers specs for the engine when new. You don't want the engine if it has had the hell run out of it over the last 7 years.
