Hi!

My motor is constantly in SLOW-mode and I have no idea why. I've read on this forum that it's only overheating that can place the engine in SLOW-mode but the weird thing is that I don't get a Overheat-alarm on the system check panel.

I checked the temp-switch (thingy with a tan/blue wire on the cylinder head) by shorting the wire to ground and that lit the overheat-alarm so I guess the temp-switch is working as it should. Is there more than one temp-switch?

I did find a solid tan wire that I could disconnect and when I did that the engine ran fine, no SLOW-mode, but I can't see what the tan wire is connected to.

Anyone have any idea what the tan wire does? and any ideas how I can fix this?

Thankful for any response.

Engine model no. is: E50ESLECC

Check the tan wire, your test indicates the wire is grounded somewhere. The tan/blue stripe wire on temp sensor, tan wire on pack connected in engine harness. Can`t give you anymore till I look at wiring diagram.

Thanks for your reply Clanton, you were right. I checked the tan wire and sure enough it was damaged and grounded itself on the engine when it vibrated.
Thank you for guiding me in the right direction :).
