210 ssi performance improvements?

I recently purchased a 2006 210 ssi with the Mercruiser 5.0 MPI. I am running a 14x20 Mercury aluminum prop. With 3/4 tank of fuel, I am getting about 41 mph on GPS. Does that sound about right for that size boat with that motor. It feels just a bit underpowered, but then again there is a lot of boat to push. I am both a slalom skier and a wake boarder. For wakeboarding, the pull is fine. I have yet to try and slalom behind the boat, but want to determine if there is enough pull to get me out of the water before changing props for more top speed (I understand you get less torque out of the hole if you prop for higher speed).

Are there any simple or bolt on performance products for the 5.0 MPI motor which will increase horsepower/torque enough to justify their cost? Anyone have any experience inproving this stock performance? One final note, the in-dash tach shows around 4500 rpm.

Speed sounds slow, rpms sound low.
No mods to be made to that engine that are cost effective.
