I'm looking at a 2001 br 230 and apparantly
it came with the 5.7 motor. The owner told me
that the boat sat unwinterized for two seasons
and they had to replace the motor. Well the used
motor they put in is a 5.7 but it's carbuerated. I think
the original was fuel injected. I would like your
opinion on wheter or not I should waste my time
with this carb motor. Thanks

That's going to have to be up to you. There's nothing wrong with a carbureted engine.

You'll have to try it and decide if the performance meets your expectations....... Some of us like carbed engines because they're easy to work on. (and fix "in the field")

If the guy didn't care enough to winterize it and leave it sit for two winters, chances are he didn't really care or look after it. Who knows what else will surface. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Thats my humble opinon for all its worth.

Thanks guys I just thought that fuel
injection would be a little more reliable.
Thanks for your opinions

No reason not to go with the carbed motor if the price is right. It'll need more frequent tune-ups than the injected motor and the injected motor will be slightly easier to start, but other than that it's no big deal.

Overall condition of the rest of the boat and price would be more important than the type of induction.
