Hi Guys, I have a problem with my 2000 Johnson 175. I noticed that engine was not sounding right last time I started it. I have narrowed the problem down to it being a problem with the timing on cylinder 1. I hooked up a timing light to the engine and found out that cylinders 2-6 are firing on time and cylinder 1 is off. I have checked the coils by swapping them and still a problem with cylinder 1. I have also checked the spark plug and plug wire, all checks out ok. Compression also checks out ok on all cylinders. Could this be a bad powerpack?
