Reverse Issues

I am having difficulty getting the boat to shift into reverse. Forward is perfect but reverse is not working at all. I have a MCM140 horse mercruiser with an Alpha 1 outdrive. Any suggestions would be appriciated. Thanks!

Ayuh,... Can it be shifted to reverse from the motor,..??
Is there any Crap in the drive oil,..??

yea reverse works from the motor..and i checked the drive oil and just a little shavings on the plug...nothing abnormal. I just downloaded the service manual for adjusting the shift cables from another post..I am going to attempt tomorro. Thanks

Well what was the answer? I have the same problem. Going to check adjustment myself.
