My imitation wood dash on my Cobalt 252 is really faded. I can't order a new one from Cobalt. Has anyone found a material that can be applied to cover the dash with good uv protection?
At this point, don't you want something that looks good? Why not use the existing das as a pattern to mark and cut some 1/8" plastic, in your favorite color or pattern? Simply apply it over the original...
Do you still want it to look like wood? If not, you can get a spray paint called Fusion by Krylon. The stuff supposedly bonds to plastics and doesn't flake off. I did my dash with it and I think it worked out well.
Run over to the Bayliner Owners Club and ping a gent by the name of SomeSailor. He does custom dash replacements in any finish you care to mention. He specializes in Bayliners, since the 1980s and 1990s dashboards are looking pretty sorry by now, but he can do any dash you want:
